Out of nowhere
You were there
Across the bar
Did you have to glare that hard?
I noticed you too
Your tattoo peeking through
Did you need help, maybe?
Another beer, possibly?
A pen is what you asked
Then you dashed off real fast
Came back and paid your tab
Handing me the napkin note
You left before I had time to read what you wrote
That was the beginning of our love story
It ended two years later in tragedy
Your addictions have you fragmented
Broken pieces on street cement
My love cannot mend
The broken pieces together again

Thank you for reading and saying…

You tied that in nicely with the prompt. Cogent reminder that loves doesn’t conquer all.

Ahhh yes! But there is a love that does…
sustainabilitea said:
Hmm, that should have said “love doesn’t…”, not “loves.”
unawarebutunderlined said:
I read you…the joys of typos… I have sticky butterfingers…thanks for reading and commenting…you are a dear for peeking in, cheers! 🙂
sustainabilitea said:
I usually notice a typo just after I press “reply” or “send” and sit there helplessly while the computer ever so slowly shoots the mistake into cyber space! 😦
unawarebutunderlined said:
No judgement ever from me sweetie… I feel you on the sad face…are we writers perfectionists?
unawarebutunderlined said:
I guess I should have said, I am one… vs saying all writers are 😀

A sad tale.
Nice take on the prompt!
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you…I just love that picture…pop art!
Lindaura Glamoura said:
A simple poem, but a good little life’s story – and you used the prompt very well.
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you…that picture is wonderful, aye?!

A sad tale so beautifully written. I enjoyed this.
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you…sad indeed…we cannot “fix” even with the best of human love…

Wonderfully lucid.

unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you…truth or fiction can be, aye?!

Im always amazed at how the most meaningful and life changing experiences we have always seem to have the most humble beginnings. I really enjoyed this!
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thanks love…(I’m saying that with my most proper British accent) 😉
po3tic said:
ooh I want to hear that!!
unawarebutunderlined said:
How so I get that thingy that you has on your page?
po3tic said:
Hahaha English please!
unawarebutunderlined said:
Stupid typos! Forgive me, please! I was running around the house and typing on my iPhone…ok, now I’m sitting…You my friend, read your poem, yes?!! I would like to know how to do that as well…can you give a lesson from across the seas?
po3tic said:
Hmmm well let’s see, go to http://www.soundcloud.com and create an account and then record whatever you like. Under the share option you should see a choice that says WordPress code, just copy that code and paste it at the very top of your post and viola, you have a spoken word poem! You can also just leave all the spoken word stuff on soundcloud and provide a link to it on your blog if you’d like!
unawarebutunderlined said:
You are wonderful! Thank you for the information…hugs and kisses from USA 😉
po3tic said:
Mmmm I like both of those! 😉
unawarebutunderlined said:
I knew you’d be pleased 😉
po3tic said:
You’re quite perceptive! 😊

This was a sad tale, but an excellent story of the trials that love can put us through.
Great Write!

Dear Unaware,
You told a complete story in few words. Good use of the prompt. Nice one.

Thank you for running the contest…it was a fun prompt!
rochellewisoff said:
Happy to facilitate. But it’s not a contest. 😉
unawarebutunderlined said:
I understand…the opportunity to write and read I guess is what I meant…I did the prompt from last week but only used 50 words…I did not know that they had to have 100. Another blogger explained the “rules”…I just liked what I wrote in the 50 words and could not find the other 50 so I did not link up…
rochellewisoff said:
It’s up to 100 words. If 50 words are all you need, then so be it. Some go over. We’re a forgiving lot.
unawarebutunderlined said:
Oh really?!! Thank you… Are the links closed after 1 week?
rochellewisoff said:
Yes
unawarebutunderlined said:
Well darn…another blogger gave me the wrong information 😦 “If These Bricks Could Speak” is what I wrote…

wonderful use of the prompt. i like how the story developed from the beginning of a beautiful love story to a sad reality.
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you…a wooden nickel tip, at best!
jcsegarra said:
unfortunate for all involved. it’s sad to see someone’s life dictated by an outside influence like that. excellent way to paint the picture. thank you.
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you J for reading…the picture prompt helped round it all out nicely. 🙂
