Looking for color
Seems there is none to be found
None even fleeting
None even fleeting
Daydreaming head in the cloud
Colors painted loud
Colors painted loud
Against this brick solid wall
Maybe there’s a crack
Maybe there’s a crack
In the canvas of my heart
A masterpiece found
A masterpiece found
May yield to color in sense
No way through to you
No way through to you
Dreams are askew, hazy
Black eyes seem shallow
Black eyes seem shallow
Without knowledge of color
My fears become true
My fears become true
White you, Black me, muddled
Looking for color

writerdsnelson said:

unawarebutunderlined said:
Really?!! I’m blown away by that…just a lovely compliment π
writerdsnelson said:
It’s true, I love Haikus but I don’t think I’m very good at them but I was inspired by your blog to give them another go! :o)

You are wonderful…I’ve seen some but crazy WP does NOT keep my following in the reader π¦ I’m glad to know you are stepping out of your comfort zone!! That is what I’m doing here on WP.
writerdsnelson said:
Thank you, that brought a littel tear to my eye too. Thank you for the compliment and the encouragment.

I like the ‘spill over’. Very effective. Lovely poem. x

Thanks but that’s Johnny’s term. It was my idea to make his last line to become my first line and the first line to be the last line…it was fun to collaborate with someone. I have asked several people on WP since I started my blog at the end of October, Johnny is the first one to follow through π

that’s perspective π But the importance of our words lies not in what monetary gain, but in emotional gain, from our expression, and sometimes from the reaction of others. For me, it’s about expression. And you express yourself well.
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you for that lovely compliment π cheers to you!

I love it! Especially that last haiku! π
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you Eva…the last one is mine π Johnny started so his are the odd ones and mine are the even ones…my idea was the first line…and to use the last line of each as the new first line…oh, and also to use the first line as the final last line…and the picture….and the black and white theme…hmmm, I’m wondering if Sir Johnny was in this…JK! It was fun writing with him. He’s a cool dude. Now he and Dawn are trying to talk me into writing on their other project as the Haiku dog…..
Eva PoeteX said:
You’re welcome. I could tell that one was yours. Your poetry and the way you word things is very unique. ^_^ I love poetry collaboration. Well done!
unawarebutunderlined said:
I was kidding about Johnny…we tried to write something before and he thought my comment was my 4 lines of verse…it was quite comical!
Eva PoeteX said:
Lol π I know you were just joking around. And that’s quite funny! You speak in poetry. Who knows… with the right line breaks almost anything can be a poem? Haha.
unawarebutunderlined said:
That’s what he said…I’m not confident though…slowly, very slow!
Eva PoeteX said:
Well, you should be! You’re obviously good at what you do. π
unawarebutunderlined said:
You are too sweet π cheers to you!
Eva PoeteX said:

unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you for that encouragement π

Beautiful collaboration! It circled around color perfectly. A few lines/ideas stood out:
“Maybe thereβs a crack In the canvas of my heart”;
“Black eyes seem shallow Without knowledge of color”;
and that entire last stanza!
unawarebutunderlined said:
Thank you for peeking in..yes this was a fun collaboration. All done on KIK (a text app) I didn’t see the whole thing until Johnny posted it on Saturday…
