Moonlight
unveils our myopic love story contradiction of affection
-an apparition,
pretend pretensions.
Sunlight
flaunts reality, dazzle illuminates
hope flushed down the hollow basin
-true love exiled into the dark
shadow of truth.

Into The Light 33 Words
Written for Trifextra 97
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Turn down the lights;
Turn down the bed.
Turn down these voices
Inside my head.
Lay down with me;
Tell me no lies.
Just hold me close;
Don’t patronize.
Don’t patronize me.
[Chorus:]
‘Cuz I can’t make you love me
If you don’t.
You can’t make your heart feel
Something it won’t.
Here in the dark
In these final hours,
I will lay down my heart
And I’ll feel the power;
But you won’t.
No, you won’t.
‘Cuz I can’t make you love me
If you don’t.
I’ll close my eyes,
Then I won’t see
The love you don’t feel
When you’re holding me.
Morning will come,
And I’ll do what’s right;
Just give me till then
To give up this fight.
And I will give up this fight.
[Chorus]
unawarebutunderlined said:
I just saw that you noticed 🙂 I usually sleep in on Monday mornings 🙂 not today for some reason…
theclocktowersunset said:
I have a hard time sleeping, sometimes I go for days. Ughhh, I know right. One good thing about movies for sure, good ones at least. You can watch them over and over. I like to match my movies to the weather and time of day if I can.
unawarebutunderlined said:
That is a fun idea…I work on Sunday after church until the night…so I give myself permission to sleep in since I’m not in bed at my usual 8:30pm time…but for some reason my body wanted to wake up…it is all a good thing. It means that I’m now finally back on schedule without needing an alarm clock 🙂
theclocktowersunset said:
8:30 seems early, I guess I did doze off last night before 9 but I was up shortly there after. You must keep pretty busy. 🙂
unawarebutunderlined said:
I wake up at 1:30am
theclocktowersunset said:
Oh my, well it seems neither of us gets much sleep. I don’t like to sleep when it’s dark, that’s my favorite time. 🙂
unawarebutunderlined said:
I love sleep but with 10 children I have become used to not sleeping for over 22 years…
theclocktowersunset said:
TEN?
unawarebutunderlined said:
Yes
theclocktowersunset said:
As wild as that must be, it must be great to have them around all the time.
