Trifecta: Trifextra week Ninety-Two.
This weekend the Trifextra challenge:
In The Scorpio Races, author Maggie Stiefvater writes, “It is the first day of November and so, today, someone will die.” Give us the next thirty-three words of this story, as you imagine it. Take it wherever you like, but make it original and make it 33 words exactly.
Another One Bites The Dust
“Absurd!”,
those words
I’d heard
echoed,
as the jukebox
tune came on.
The music familiar,
lyrics peculiar,
I listened,
while humming along.
Believe, I must,
singing that chorus,
“Another One Bites The Dust”.
Go write one here: http://www.trifectawritingchallenge.com/2013/11/trifextra-week-ninety-two.html?m=1

Quite the challenge. I had fun with this one. And I believe that you, too, have succeeded in enjoying the restrictions of 33 words.

It’s the first day of November
and so, today somebody will die
Mercury rises
Freddie sings his heart out
I want it all
I want it now
before it’s too late
before it’s all is gone
before that somebody
is me
I want it all

It is the first day of November and so, on today, someone will die,
Along with their gifts,
That were never unwrapped,
Left in the darkness,
without the chance to create a smile!
